Double Delight for Coulter Racing: It was a memorable weekend for Coulter Racing after the father and son duo of Steve and Michael Coulter scored a clean sweep in their respective classes during the second and penultimate round of the 2010 Australian Truck Racing Championship. In the ‘Light Truck’ class Coulter Snr was once again able to dominate proceedings earlier this month at the Winton Motor Raceway circuit in country Victoria aboard his # 3 Pirtek Fluid Solutions – Campbelltown supported Isuzu SBR when he topped the time sheets in qualifying, not only in his class but outright, and then romped to victory in each of his four races. The four and final race of the weekend, the ‘Super Prix’, Coulter was unable to take victory but finished in a gallant second place behind the Super Truck of John Falk. Coulter’s latest victory has once again consolidate his lead in the Australian Championship point standings for the ‘Light Truck’ class and he remains on track for what will be a record fifth Australian Championship in succession. “I couldn’t have hoped for a better weekend and anytime that you come away with a clean sweep makes it even more satisfying,” Coulter Snr expressed. “Winton Motor Raceway is quite a technical circuit, so when you win there you know that you have really had to earn it. Special thanks must go out to my team and supporters for all their continued efforts and without them none of my success would have been at all possible.” Coulter’s 19-year-old son Michael wasn’t to be outdone and enjoyed some winning celebrations of his own after he won both races in the ‘Light Truck’ class in the Co-drivers Cup Series. After finishing second in the opening round of the Australian Championship, Coulter Jnr was able to qualify on pole position and then take out both races. Coulter Jnr, who is the current Australian Champion in the ‘Light Truck’ class in the Co-drivers Cup Series, was glad to get into victory lane, especially after he missed out on taking out the opening round this year. “I was disappointed to miss out on the victory in the opening round, as there was a bit of bad luck that came my way,” admitted the second year racer. “To come back out in the second round and take out the win is very rewarding and it certainly build up my confidence heading into the final round next month.” The Coulter’s are now aiming to wrap up their respective classes in the Australian Championship during the third and final round at Barbagallo Raceway, near Perth in Western Australia, on the Friday and Saturday of November 12 and 13. Steve and Michael Coulter are proudly sponsored in 2010 by: Coulter Excavations, Pirtek Fluid Transfer Solutions – Campbelltown, HDD Borers – Leppington www.hddborers.com , and Continental Tyres.
