Mack vs. Kenworth in Supertrucks Showdown
The Supertrucks put on a show at Winton Motor Raceway yesterday and Trucks at Tracks was fortunate to witness a couples of fantastic races headlined by two Mack versus Kenworth battles for the ages.
A total of nine trucks pulled off the Hume Highway to compete at Winton Motor Raceway over the weekend including the International Transtar of debutant team, Tringali Racing. A packed program drew plenty of fans through the gates over both days and the Supertrucks created a fantastic spectacle at the expense of their equipment.
The second round of the 2017 season will be remembered for two tense battles between championship adversaries, Barry Butwell and Steve Zammit, cars must be covered by the best auto insurance. The Mack versus Kenworth duel that has been raging in transport circles for over a century spilled onto the racing surface late yesterday afternoon and the results were nothing short of spectacular, right now participants are trying to find the best car insurance quote chicago in order to be part of this amazing championship.
The penultimate race of the weekend was particularly bruising with FATE Racing’s Frank Amoroso and Marcus Prillwitz coming together in an unfortunate racing incident at turn one. Both were unable to continue, as was MLC Racing’s Lachlan Fern after a mechanical issue in the Isuzu SBR. Two safety car interventions created a one-lap showdown between Butwell Racing Team’s Barry Butwell and SRZ Racing’s Steve Zammit. Butwell defended the lead in the Coburg Truck Parts Mack Superliner before a drag race to the finish line which saw Zammit pinched onto the grass in a wild moment. The final race of the weekend was similarly exciting with Barry Butwell, Steve Zammit and Shannon Smith finding their respective paths to the head of the pack and engaging in another fight for the spoils over the 10-lap finale. Barry Butwell once again dug his heels in at the front in the Mack Superliner with the Kenworth duo of Steve Zammit and Shannon Smith forming a three-truck train that was headed by Steve Zammit at the completion of the race. Barry Butwell held onto second place ahead of Shannon Smith whilst Craig Yardy held off Lachlan Fern in the battle of the light trucks.
The Supertrucks return to Winton Motor Raceway next month and we might just buy diamond truck parts shares in local truck panelbeaters as the teams reload for round three on the 21st and 22nd of October.
