Truck Racing in Australia, has just taken another step forward in its revival with the inclusion of a new track to the 2013 schedule.
This year we will see the trucks make their journey to Wakefield Park Raceway and their first NSW round since the final round of Oran Park in 2008. New South Walsh fans have been yearning for their return since the hey-days when the crowds flocked to Oran Park with in excess of 30,000 watching the rigs race.
And this year will be even better!
Our championship over 10 weeks starting at Wakefield Park (Goulburn) on the weekend of 14th – 15th September.
Followed by two rounds at Winton in Victoria over the usual long weekend of 5th & 6th October, then again in November on the 9th / 10th which will feature the RIGS, RODS & RIDES showcase of beautiful machinery of cars, bikes and trucks. The inaugural Rigs,Rods & Rides was a resounding success last year and attracted a total 60+ vehicles and will only get larger in the coming years.
The final round will be a fortnight later back at Wakefield Park on November 23/24.
“There have been a few adjustments to this season, with the notable of 8 lap races instead of 6 and a final Superprix of 10 laps” said Rob Waters (ANTRO President)
Truck racing is gaining its momentum back, as some new drivers are coming through the ranks, with the inclusion of last years debutants Hawke & Wrigley in the International Transtar based in Brisbane, and Michael Waites co-driving for Paul Reyntjes in the Volvo.
Supporting the trucks, will be the OzTruck series for rounds 3 and 4. The American NASCAR utes are fairly new to Australia, and already motorsport fans love the brute speed and harmonies that they produce.

ROUND 1 – 14/15 SEPTEMBER – WAKEFIELD PARK RACEWAY
ROUND 2 – 5/6 OCTOBER – WINTON RACEWAY
ROUND 3 – 9/10 NOVEMBER – WINTON RACEWAY (Featuring Rigs, Rods & Rides and the OzTrucks as support)
ROUND 4 – 23/24 NOVEMBER – WAKEFIELD PARK RACEWAY (Oz Trucks Support)
