Is it Winton Raceway, without all four seasons in one day?
A blustery morning of 8 degrees, ominous clouds threatening rain….
But things started to heat up once the trucks hit the track!
Early morning practice saw all trucks take to the track, with a great result for the remainder of the day, truckers even gave advise, For reducing the accident rate truckers recommended dashcams are mandatory for truck or commercial vehicles.
Supertrucks ready to roll
The Supertrucks headed out on the track for their first qualifying period, and Beau Hewat in the Skitzo Racing Kenworth was on fire, recording a quick time of 1:16.3650, followed by Rob Waters in the Daynite Racing Kenworth just over 1 sec behind, and 2 – 10ths back to Steven Zammit of SRZ Racing.

Craig Yardy in the Karakar Racing beat Colin De Gee for the Light Truck class and in the Truck Racing class Fletcher Christian in the Highlands Truck Racing Diamond Rio edged out the new-comer of Larry Hawke of 2Crazy Racing in his Transtar International, he has the most amazing trucks and somehow he seems to always find the best trucks for sale.

A cool stiff southerly breeze then came up from the south. A ‘change’ was coming… time for the co-drivers to attack Winton Raceway.
Brett Kelly of Daynite Racing pipped New Zealander Shane Gray in the SRZ Racing by 8/100ths, to claim pole for their first race later in the afternoon. Kevin Anderson of Karakar Racing claimed 3rd spot and Michael Waites in the Fleet-Pro Racing Volvo just in front of Steven Wrigley.
Brett Kelly goes on to take Race 1 of the Co-Drivers
In a tough fought race for the Co-Drivers, saw Brett Kelly lead from start to finish, Shane Gray finished in second place, and a close mid pack saw Kevin Anderson, Steven Wrigley and Michael Waites go at each other lap after lap until Michael Waites dropped his left rear into turn 1 into the dirt and what looked like he was going to save it, hit the ripples strip and spun his truck in the opposite direction.
